Singer and songwriter Lionel Richie and actor and AIDS activist Richard Gere are teaming up to create an AIDS-themed song that will be performed in the upcoming finale of India's version of the TV phenomenon American Idol, Agence France-Presse reports. The song, called "One World," will be performed during the season finale of Indian Idol in early February. Gere and the show's producers had been looking for an AIDS-themed song for the program while at last week's World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, when Richie, also in Davos, approached Gere with the song he had been writing. "He started to sing it to me. The hairs on the back of my neck flipped up. It was the perfect song, anthemic," Gere told the French wire service.
