The 19th annual walk to benefit Seattle's Lifelong AIDS Alliance, held on September 10, raised $590,000, organizers say. About 500 people participated in the event, reports the Seattle Times. The Lifelong AIDS Alliance--formed in 2001 by the merger of the Northwest AIDS Foundation and the Chicken Soup Brigade--offers HIV-positive people in the Seattle area cooked meals, grocery shopping services, transportation to health care providers, and housing assistance.
