Johns Hopkins University on Monday announced plans to launch a Center for Global Health, which will coordinate the university's many programs focusing on improving health and fighting disease worldwide, including HIV. The new center will coordinate the work of the university's Bloomberg School of Public Health, its medical school, and its nursing school. Infectious disease expert Thomas Quinn will lead the new center, which will receive $800,000 annually in funding from the three Johns Hopkins schools. (The Advocate)
