HIVers launch
social organization in Los Angeles

A group of HIV-positive Los Angeles residents has launched a new social club for HIVers that aims to provide a safe and drug-free environment for HIV-positive people to meet, socialize, and make new friends. Called Poz4Poz LA, the group already has more than 250 members from Los Angeles and Orange counties and aims to host at least two social events each month. Organizers stress that the group is not about sexual connections but is instead focused on friendship and camaraderie. Typical gatherings include movie nights, board game parties, and pool parties, the organizers say. For more information about Poz4PozLA, visit the group's Web site at www.geocities.com/poz4pozla/Activity_Night.html. (The Advocate)
