Six Feet Under dominates Emmy nominations

Six Feet Under, the HBO series created by gay Oscar-winner Alan Ball about a dysfunctional family of undertakers, dominated the nominations for the 54th annual Emmy Awards, picking up 23 nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor (for both Michael C. Hall as gay mortician David Fisher and for Peter Krause as Nate Fisher), Best Actress (for both Frances Conroy and Rachel Griffiths), and Best Supporting Actress (Lauren Ambrose). Other nominations of interest include a Made-for-TV Movie nomination for HBO's The Laramie Project, a reality programming nod for the gay-inclusive American High, an editing nomination for the documentary Southern Comfort, and a Best Supporting Actress, Miniseries or Movie, nomination for Stockard Channing's portrayal of Judy Shepard in NBC's The Matthew Shepard Story, not to mention multiple nominations for Will & Grace. The Emmys will air on NBC on September 22.
