Charles Nelson Reilly to direct Broadway-bound revival of Harvey
Out actor-director Charles Nelson Reilly is directing a revival of the comedy Harvey at California's Laguna Playhouse, with an eye to bring the show to Boston and eventually Broadway, reports Playbill On-Line. The show will star Charles Durning, Joyce Van Patten, Dick Van Patten, William H. Bassett, Jack Betts, Leslie Easterbrook, James Van Patten, Pamela Gordon, Stephen O'Mahoney, Erica Shaffer, and Jill Van Velzer. Reilly, perhaps best known for his appearances on Match Game in the 1970s, won a Tony for the original Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and received nationwide acclaim for his recent one-man show, Save It for the Stage: The Life of Reilly. His Broadway directing credits include The Belle of Amherst, Paul Robeson, Break a Leg, The Nerd, and The Gin Game.
