Queer Eye for the Straight Guy to spruce up Pat Buchanan
Variety reports that NBC will continue working its corporate synergy on Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy by sending the show's "Fab Five" onto MSNBC's ratings-challenged Buchanan & Press to provide makover tips to political commentators Pat Buchanan and Bill Press. Tammy Haddad, the new executive in charge of Buchanan & Press, told Variety, "Everyone is going after [the Fab Five]. I think every single show wants them. I think it only helps that we were within the NBC family." The Fab Five were scheduled to appear on the show Tuesday night at 6 p.m. Buchanan has at times been an ardent opponent of gay rights, particularly in a speech he delivered at the 1992 Republican National Convention.
