Sarah Chalke of Scrubs bites into Ganatra's Cake
Scrubs star Sarah Chalke is spending her summer hiatus from the NBC series filming two indie features. The actress will make her big-screen debut in Cake, which stars Heather Graham as a free-spirited travel writer and adventurer whose phobia of relationships is tested after she accepts an offer to take over her father's business, a conservative bridal magazine. Chalke will play her friend. Taye Diggs also will star in the film from out director Nisha Ganatra (Chutney Popcorn), which is in production in Canada. Chalke will then segue to the romantic comedy Alchemy alongside Tom Cavanagh and Illeana Douglas for writer-director Evan Oppenheimer. Shooting is scheduled to start at the end of the month in New York City.
