Gay marriage documentary Tying the Knot to be screened for Republican delegates
The gay marriage documentary Tying the Knot will be screened for delegates at the upcoming Republican National Convention, reports Variety. Distributor Roadside Attractions has teamed with former New York City mayor Ed Koch, chairman of the RNC's volunteer committee, as well as gay rights groups such as Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays and Marriage Equality in an attempt to recruit delegates for the screening, which will take place August 31 at the Magno Screening Room. The documentary focuses on two surviving partners who had to fight for pensions and property because their longtime relationships lacked the legal protections of marriage. Tying the Knot will open October 1 in selected markets.
