Kinsey, Brother to Brother, Tarnation, Bad Education among Independent Spirit nominees
The Independent Feature Project announced nominations for the 20th IFP Independent Spirit Awards Tuesday morning, and several gay-themed films are in the running for top awards. Out writer-director Bill Condon's Kinsey, a biography of the controversial sex researcher, is nominated for four Independent Spirit awards, including Best Feature and Best Screenplay. Another film from an openly gay writer-director, Rodney Evans's Brother to Brother, is also up for four awards, including Best First Feature and Best First Screenplay.
