The Independent Feature Project announced nominations for the 20th IFP Independent Spirit Awards Tuesday morning, and several gay-themed films are in the running for top awards. Out writer-director Bill Condon's Kinsey, a biography of the controversial sex researcher, is nominated for four Independent Spirit awards, including Best Feature and Best Screenplay.
