New on video February 8: Bright Young Things and Crush

Two new films of gay interest each make its DVD debut on Tuesday, February 8. Openly gay writer and actor Stephen Fry makes his directorial debut with Bright Young Things (New Line Home Entertainment), a scathingly funny adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's high-society satire Vile Bodies. The film stars Michael Sheen, Emily Mortimer, Dan Aykroyd, Jim Broadbent, Peter O'Toole, Stockard Channing, and acclaimed newcomer Fenella Woolgar (Stage Beauty, Vera Drake).

Also coming out on DVD for the first time Tuesday is Alison Maclean's Crush, presented as part of Strand Releasing Home Video's "Director's Vision" series. The moody thriller stars Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden as a woman who takes over her best friend's identity after a car crash and uses that new identity to worm her way into the lives of a famous author and his family. The new DVD includes a digital transfer as well as an interview with the director, a commentary featuring Harden and Maclean, the film's trailer, and The Kitchen Sink, an early short of Maclean's.
