An Oregon woman says she believes thieves mistook a rainbow peace flag at her house as a lesbian symbol when it was displayed simply as a reminder of her family's recent trip to Europe, where such flags are common. Lisa Wells, 46, of Corvallis said the flag had the word pace written on it, Italian for peace. But early on the morning of January 30, she was awakened by her dog growling and spotted four men in her yard. She yelled at them, but one turned and yelled insults about lesbians. "He threatened me multiple times," Wells said. "He told me I should die. He told me I should read the Bible. I was scared. I was really scared." She said the incident occurred when her husband was out of town and she was alone with her two young sons, ages 11 and 8. A police officer responded, but there was no evidence of any property damage, said Corvallis police lieutenant Ron Noble. Last Friday night somebody stole the peace flag, Wells said.
