The suburban Chicago village of Oak Park is in the running to host some of the events for this summer's Gay Games, the Glenview, Ill., Pioneer Press reported Thursday. Oak Park has one of the largest gay and lesbian community organizations in Illinois. Meanwhile, a sizeable number of celebrities have called the town home throughout its history, including architect Frank Lloyd Wright, writer Ernest Hemingway, and Dan Castellaneta, the voice of Homer Simpson. Oak Park Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau president Rich Carollo said the high school will host soccer as well as badminton and tennis. "Now that we have those three events squared away, we're working to schedule a fourth event, cycling," Carollo told the newspaper. "All that's left is for the international committee to name us."
