Nayikas Dance Theater will present EnGendered, a three-day multidisciplinary arts festival bringing together fine arts from South Asia, including dance, film, and visual art, April 18-20 at Lincoln Center in New York City.

The festival will feature contemporary and classical artists, academicians, and activists from South Asia. It is slated to feature more than 10 male classical temple dance artists from Orissa as well as contemporary and feminist dance theater work by Aditi Mangaldas, Aparna Sindhoor, and Parul Shah. There will also be transgender classical performances, indigenous folk art from India such as Mithila paintings, and panel discussions by academics and filmmakers such as Rituparno Ghosh, Shohini Ghosh, Urvashi Vaid, Reema Kagti, Bharati Mukherjee, and Alka Pande.
