Interior designer and gay rights activist Scott E. Graham was found dead in his West Palm Beach, Fla., home, The Palm Beach Post reported Wednesday. He was 54.
Lt. Chuck Reed told the Post that there were "obvious signs of foul play," reporting that when he approached Graham's home, he found the garage door half-open and the front door unlocked.
Graham and close friend Rand Hoch founded the Palm Beach Human Rights Council in the late '80s.
"He wasn't a very political person, but he was extremely generous with a lot of charities and involved with the arts," Hoch told the Post.
"He was a very quiet, mild-mannered kind of guy. He's the last guy you can imagine being subjected to such a crime," said Bruce Lewis, owner of a public relations firm located above Graham's interior design firm.
"I'm going to miss the hell out of him," said Hoch. (The Advocate)
