AFA to Sponsor TEA

You read that correctly. The antigay American Family Association put out a release on Thursday announcing their sponsorship of TEA parties, or Taxed Enough Already rallies, in 1,000 cities on April 15.

"We cannot spend our way out of debt, and we find it immoral to pile debt on our great-grandchildren," Donald Wildmon, the AFA's chairman, said in a release. "It appears [the stimulus] is above the pay grade of President Obama and Congress, whose only solution is to spend more money on the problem."

The AFA is opposed to Congress's stimulus plan, which will pump billions of dollars into America's beleaguered economy.

Wildmon and his colleagues are likely unaware that gay circuit parties that take place during daylight hours have long been called "tea parties" or "tea dances."
