Matt Lucass Ex Hangs Himself

Kevin McGee (pictured right), the ex-husband of Little Britain star Matt Lucas, was found dead in his Edinburgh home on Monday morning. The 32-year-old had hanged himself after posting a suicide note on Facebook.

Police broke into McGee's flat around 8 a.m. after a friend alerted them about the note, according to London's Daily Mail.

"The ominous message had been posted less than four hours earlier, at 4:26 a.m. -- after which a fearful friend alerted the police," reported the Daily Mail.

"McGee, a TV producer, posted the message: 'Kevin McGee thinks that death is much better than life.'"

Friends said that McGee was struggling with depression and drug use after his divorce from Lucas 10 months prior. The couple, married in a lavish ceremony in 2006, was together for nearly six years. Their high-profile divorce reportedly was prompted by elements of McGee's behavior that included cocaine indulgence.

Lucas, 35, was devastated by the news of McGee's death. He canceled his appearances in the West End production of Prick up Your Ears until further notice.
