Mayer Tweets Gay Bar Yes Kiss No

John Mayer took to his Twitter to clear up rumors he was making out with a guy at a gay club in Palm Springs over the weekend.

The singer-songwriter says that while he did hit the dance floor at Toucan's Tiki Lounge, no one planted one on him -- and that to suggest it happened is insulting to the gay community.

"Rumor check: went to a gay bar in Palm Springs, yes," Mayer tweets. "Had a blast. Danced my face off. Someone there planted a kiss on me? No.

"I don't like the story painting gays as unable to control themselves. Found the crowd even more respectful than in a straight club."

Mayer has said in the past that he made out with gossip blogger Perez Hilton at a New Year's Eve party.
