Utah Minds Changing on Gay Rights in Utah

The people of Utah are coming around on gay rights, or so says a recent Salt Lake Tribune poll.

Support for employment protections and hospital visitation rights jumped 11 percentage points from a poll taken a year ago. Even among Mormons, the increase was seen, with approval shooting up by 10 percentage points.

The article suggests that two Salt Lake City ordinances pushed and approved by Mayor Ralph Becker -- and endorsed by the Mormon Church -- may have influenced the changed minds.
