The Senate Armed Services Committee has canceled Thursday's hearing on "don't ask, don't tell" due to inclement weather. Forecasters are predicting the Washington, D.C., area will receive anywhere from 10 to 20 inches of snow between Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.
The hearing has not been officially rescheduled, but sources familiar with the issue said the earliest potential date for the hearing would be the week of March 3.
The Senate Armed Services Committee also canceled Tuesday's hearing in which the Air Force's secretary, Michael Donley, and its chief of staff, Gen. Norton Schwartz, were scheduled to testify about the Department of Defense authorization request for funding. Some questions concerning "don't ask, don't tell" were also expected to be asked during that hearing.
