The tawdry timeline of gay video game characters includes horny elves, sexually ambiguous bullies, and drug-addicted club owners.
The user-generated website MadAtoms.com recently created a timeline of gay characters -- its list begins in 1972 with the invention of Pong, a game that had thousands of men begin playing with each other's joysticks. The most recent development was last year's Xbox 360 release of Grand Theft Auto: The Ballad of Gay Tony, a game that featured a flamboyant club owner addicted to painkillers and cocaine.
