An editorial in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel on George Rekers's
involvement as an expert witness for the state of Florida defending the
gay adoption ban calls the dated law "embarrassing" and the fact that Rekers was paid to testify "shameful."
Reads the article: "Gay men and women can be foster parents in Florida, and they can certainly provide good homes if allowed to adopt and make the parenting bond permanent. There is no credible link between sexual orientation and the best interests of the child. The George Rekers case has shown again how shameful and embarrassing this whole gay adoption ban and court case are. Getting rid of the ban is the only answer."
