Lesbian Professor Heckled After Slamming Ariz. Immigration Bill

University of Arizona women's studies professor Sandra Soto was both booed and cheered after bringing up Arizona's new anti-immigration law during a speech she gave to graduates last week.

Reaction was swift and mostly negative when Soto spoke about the contentious legislation. Joe.My.God reports that Soto is gay.

"One reason it has instigated a boycott is because to a whole lot of people, myself included, it appears to not only invite but require the police to engage in racial profiling," Soto said.

In video of the speech, one person is heard screaming at Soto to cut her hair before calling her a bitch.

Soto also took aim at a bill signed by Republican governor Jan Brewer that cut ethnic studies classes from public and charter schools in Arizona.
