Tammy Lynn Michaels has sued for full custody of the twins she shares with her former domestic partner Melissa Etheridge.

Etheridge filed for a dissolution of their domestic partnership last week, seeking joint legal and physical custody. Michaels was alleged "blindsided" by the news.

Michaels is also seeking spousal support. She says she put her acting career on hold to raise the children.

Michaels is the biological mother of the children -- she was impregnated by an anonymous sperm donor.
