Second City alum and comedic actress Jane Lynch will host Saturday Night Live this October, Movieline reports. 

Lynch will host the show, entering its 36th season, October 9. Season 2 of Glee, in which Lynch plays tough-as-nails cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester, begins September 21. She is up for a Best Supporting Actress Emmy for her portrayal; the awards will be presented August 29.
