Police say a teenager has been shot to death in a fight between rival gangs at a gay pride festival in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, the Associated Press reports.

The teenager was reportedly shot as gangs got into a fight at the beginning of the parade, which was attended by nearly 70,000 people.

The 17 people detained include the suspect in the shooting, police report.
