North Korea entered the world of social networking last week, with efforts including a Facebook profile that listed the secretive Communist country as male and interested in men.
The Rachel Maddow Show reported on North Korea's forays into Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, which the country denied to Forbes and blamed on "government supporters" outside North Korea.
"There is plenty of misinformation, speculation and sensationalism regarding the reality of North Korea," said the government, although it declined to specifically address its sexual orientation.
Time reports that the Facebook profile was removed for violating the social networking service's terms of use, most likely pertaining to the official embargo the United States has placed against the country.
