Jarod McIntosh, who is being discharged from the Navy because he is gay, has released a video on YouTube called "My DADT Story."
McIntosh, 21, spoke with CBS News about his discharge and the video, which has garnered 60,000 hits since he posted it earlier this month. He explains that when he brought his cell phone into a restricted area on a submarine, it was confiscated, and suggestive photos of him and his boyfriend were found.
Speaking from his home in Georgia, McIntosh told CBS News that he hopes to appeal his general discharge and obtain an honorable discharge, which will allow him to retain benefits like the G.I. Bill so that he can fulfill his dream of going to college.
