Gay Baiting Tea Partyer Wins in Del.

C_odonnell

Tea Party candidate Christine O'Donnell on Tuesday defeated Rep. Mike Castle in the Republican primary for Vice President Joseph Biden's former U.S. Senate seat in Delaware.

O'Donnell's win complicates the GOP's chances of recapturing a majority in the Senate -- O'Donnell is seen as a long shot at prevailing in November against Democratic nominee Chris Coons, a state executive. O'Donnell is a far-right candidate who has taken stands against masturbation and pornography. At one point O'Donnell's campaign worked with a firm that circulated a video highlighting a rumor that Castle was cheating on his wife with a man.

O'Donnell was endorsed by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Aside from Delaware, primaries took place on Tuesday in New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin.
