An Indonesian Islamic group is calling for a ban of the Q! gay and lesbian film festival held in Jakarta, capital of the world's most populous Muslim country.

"We reject the screening of the films which contain gay and homosexual lives as they are against Islamic and Indonesian cultural values," said Indonesia Ulema Council chairman Ma'ruf Amin, according to AFP.

Antigay protesters have threatened to set fire to venues showing film festival entries.
