Police in New York City announced Saturday that an eighth suspect had been arrested in an antigay gang attack on three men. They are still seeking a ninth suspect, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The attacks reportedly took place October 3, when members of the gang Latin King Goonies became enraged upon learning that a 17-year-old recruit was gay. The third attack was reportedly on a 30-year-old man who was lured into the apartment and sodomized with a baseball bat.

"When you hear the details of what occurred, torture really is the only word that comes to mind," Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Saturday.
