Joel Burns and Husband Discuss Bullying Speech

Fort Worth city councilman Joel Burns and his husband, J.D. Angle, appeared on The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell Wednesday to discuss Burns's wildly popular speech about bullying, which Angle said he had never heard in 17 years of marriage.

Angle, a political consultant, said that he did not know Burns was planning the speech until moments before he delivered it last week and that in 17 years of marriage, he had never heard the story.

As a political consultant, Angle said he likely would have advised Burns to be more cautious, but he acknowledged that he has always been a more effective husband than adviser to Burns.
