Catholic archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard of Brussels, who has called AIDS a form of punishment, was recently hit with a pie by an unknown assailant dressed in black while performing Mass for All Saints Day.
Reuters reports that Leonard has declined to press charges regarding the incident. "The archbishop continued the service and did not want to file charges against the aggressor. We have no idea who it was or what his intentions were," a diocesan spokeswoman said.
Of HIV, Leonard said in a recent interview that "sometimes there are consequences linked to our actions. ... This epidemic is a sort of intrinsic justice," according to AFP.
