Two female high school administrators in Harlem, N.Y., face possible firing for engaging in a relationship, the New York Daily News reports.

Academy for Social Action principal Crystal Simmons and assistant principal Candy Jones "engaged in intimate conduct in the school during school hours," according to a report conducted by the city's Department of Education and released Friday.

Their relationship became known when Simmons turned to officials after she asked Jones to resign, and Jones then reportedly shared her anger with colleagues. According to the report, Jones talked to another school employee about purchasing a gun, but Jones said she was making a joke in reference to a corrections officer who shot her lover.

"We are currently seeking to terminate both Principal Simmons and Assistant Principal Jones," department spokeswoman Barbara Morgan told the Daily News. "In a setting where the focus is supposed to be on student learning, conduct like this is simply unacceptable."
