UFC Commentator Joe Rogan Slammed for Antigay Slurs
Ultimate Fighting Championship commentator Joe Rogan is in hot water for calling a reporter at Fighters Only magazine a "fa**ot" -- then calling him a "c**k-sucker" in his written apology.
Rogan lashed out at Tomas Rios after the journalist took him to task for using incorrect terminology while commenting on a fight.
"Joe Rogan calling a Brazilian kick the 'question mark kick' ... is pantheon level cluelessness," Rios wrote.
Rogan fired back, calling him a "dumb c**t" and a "fa**ot," and later claiming he'd managed to get the reporter fired.
Rios responded with a statement to website BloodyElbow.com, saying he's still working as a freelance writer for Fighters Only and calling Rogan's homophobic language "unfortunate at best."
"There are many LGBTQ fans of [mixed martial arts] who are forced to deal with this sort of language in their daily lives," Rios said. "If I regret anything about what I said, it's that it made him feel the need to use the language that he did."
Rogan responded with an apology of sorts, saying, "As for my use of the offensive word 'f**got' please accept my apologies and replace it with 'c**k-sucker.'"
