Neil Patrick Harris will star as Bobby, the commitment-phobic bachelor in Stephen Sondheim's musical Company, reports The New York Times. The busy actor and new father of twins will take on the challenging role of a 35-year-old single man whose married friends urge him to settle down, in a production to be presented by the New York Philharmonic April 7-9.
Harris compares the role to his Emmy award-winning turn as womanizer Barney in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother. "[Company] just allows the performer a great opportunity to mine as deep as they choose. My day job requires a shallowness that will be fun to play against," he tells the Times.
