In an interview with Newsweek conducted before "don't ask, don't tell" was repealed, Jane Lynch and Dan Savage shared their frustrations with President Obama's progress on gay rights.
"We thought the great hope of Obama was going to magically change [gay rights], and it doesn't seem to have ... He's just nicely walking the middle," Lynch said.
The two discussed "don't ask, don't tell" and Lynch blamed John McCain for repeal looking like "it's not going to happen" (days later, the Senate voted to repeal DADT).
"Fuck John McCain -- put that in Newsweek," Savage said."
Lynch added, "Yeah, I say it too, to the second power."
