The Associated Press is reporting that Rhode Island federal prosecutors are recommending jail time for Richard Hatch for violating the terms of his supervised release.
After being convicted of failing to pay taxes on the $1 million winnings from the debut season of Survivor, Hatch was released and ordered to file amended tax returns for the years 2000 and 2001.
In December 2010 he appeared in federal court facing charges that he had failed to file the returns as ordered. Prosecutors urged the court to send Hatch back to jail for a maximum of two years, but Hatch claims he didn't refile his taxes due to his pending appeal with the U.S. Tax Court.
Hatch is scheduled to appear on the fourth celebrity edition of The Apprentice beginning in March.
