A gay couple who have been together for four decades say they want to get married before it's too late for them.
Californians Derence Kerneck and Ed Watson met at Cal Polytechnic University and have been together ever since. They are especially eager to get married now that Watson has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and his abilities are deteriorating. They spoke in a video for the Courage Campaign's Equality on Trial initiative about their life together.
"We want to have that service as soon as we can, and hope the supreme court won't dilly-dally on it because Ed wants to be able to remember the service and remember the commitments," Kerneck said of his partner.
