Lionsgate has announced it will make a number of microbudget films in the coming year for less than $2 million, including the coming-of-age comedy Gay Dude.
Written by Parks and Recreation's Alan Yang, the film is about two best friends who vow to lose their virginity before highschool graduation. Their plan takes an unexpected turn when one of the friends comes out.
"What follows is a funny, heartfelt story about friendship, prejudice, love, and the trials and triumphs of growing up," reads a synopsis of the film in The Hollywood Reporter.Ā
