Louis Marinelli, who was hired by the National Organization for Marriage to run last summer's nationwide marriage tour, has done an about-face and now says he support full civil marriage equality.
Marinelli grabbed the attention of bloggers last year when his antigay tweets under the account "NOM Updates" and Facebook posts representing the group "Protect Marriage: One Man One Woman" began showing up on official NOM websites.
By last spring Marinelli was referring to himself at events as a strategist for NOM, and he drove the RV on its marriage tour last summer. He was the one responsible for blogging from the events.
Marinelli was still employed by NOM as of the time his interview with GoodAsYou.org's Jeremy Hooper went live Friday morning. He tells Hooper in an e-mail exchange that it was his exposure to NOM's tour that caused his about-face.
