J. Edgar Hoover featuring an all-star cast, a screenplay by Dustin Lance
Black, and direction by Clint Eastwood, will open November 9, according toThe Hollywood Reporter.
Leonardo DiCaprio will headline as legendary and notorious FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, an alleged cross-dresser, who remains one of the most enigmatic figures of the 20th century. Armie Hammer, a star-on-the-rise after his appearance as the Winklevoss twins in last year's The Social Network, plays Clyde Tolson, Hoover's protege and rumored lover. Others in the cast include Judi Dench as Hoover's mother, Naomi Watts as Hoover's devoted secretary Helen Gandy, and Josh Lucas as Charles Lindbergh.
Eastwood's film will open in select theaters November 9 before expanding nationwide two days later. Black, who was honored with an Academy Award for his Milk screenplay, has previously shot down rumors that Eastwood was de-gaying the story.
