Many Potential Jurors in Ravi Trial Disqualified
Many people were pulled from the jury pool in the trial of Dharun Ravi, accused of bias intimidation against Rutgers roommate Tyler Clementi, because they exhibited potential bias.
The trial is supposed to begin Wednesday in New Jersey, but it's not clear if a jury will be ready in time. Eighty-five people were cut from the pool because of views they expressed in questionnaires, and nearly all 190 possible jurors knew of Ravi and Clementi. Ravi, 19, is charged with 15 criminal counts, all related to him allegedly taping a same-sex encounter between Clementi and another man without their knowledge. Clementi later ended his life by jumping off the George Washington bridge, though Ravi is not charged in connection with Clementi's death.
