With an ominous cinematic soundtrack and talking points reminiscent of the National Organization for Marriage's thoroughly parodied "Gathering Storm" ad from a few years ago, the Family Research Council has launched a video initiative "to stop fake marriage" following a string of legislative and legal marriage equality victories throughout the country.

"A small, elite, but influential group of Democrats and Republicans has launched a new campaign to have Washington impose same-sex marriage in every state in the country," a narrator warns, referring in part to the Commitment Campaign launched last year by D.C.-based think tank Third Way. "This well-funded elite intends to make 2012 the year same-sex marriage is imposed from the top down."
