Hi there,
🌈 🌎 As a wave of federal crackdowns on LGBTQ+ rights collides with the anniversary of marriage equality, Washington, D.C., is bracing for what will be its first and maybe the most politically charged WorldPride. From May 17 to June 8, millions are expected to converge on the nation’s capital, not just to celebrate but to protest. The Advocate spoke with the person leading the event, Ryan Bos, ahead of WorldPride's main parade on June 7.
📚 The Advocate's John Casey has co-authored a book with creative Frankie Frankeny for the 10th anniversary of marriage equality. He wrote for our print magazine about the experience of working on the book and what he hopes readers find in it.
🎉 More than 10 LGBTQ+ organizations have come together to stand with queer youth. The new initiative is called the Coalition for LGBTQ+ Youth. The groups announced in a letter to queer young people on The Advocate.
Onward and upward,
Alex Cooper
