The legendary festival rises from the ashes to glitter in the mid-day sun at Pier 17 in NYC. Read about it below.
Legendary. That's the one word we'd use to describe the wonder that was Wigstock 2.HO -- the drag-stravaganza, co-hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and Lady Bunny (who originally founded Wigstock, which ran from 1985 to 2001).
"When Wigstock started in 1985, the LGBTQ+ community was in desperate need of an event where everyone could pull out their wigs and come together, with the help of some glitter, glitz and a glue gun or two," said Bunny. "There couldn't be a better time than now to honor the legends of Wigstock, who paved the way for drag culture's current popularity, by bringing back an outrageous and unapologetically entertainment-rich show." That's exactly what happened this weekend. With performances by a slew of the top queens in the business, including a special performance by Neil Patrick Harris who reprised his role as Hedwig, the event on September 1 at Pier 17 in NYC was not to miss.
Photographer Jeff Eason captured the dazzling event exclusively for us. Keep scrolling to check out 50 gorgeous images of queens, icons, and allies from Wigstock 2.HO.
