The Drudge Report is sometimes the pulse of the right-wing, and now it's drafting headlines based on the Hillary Clinton lesbian rumor.

Not much is beneath the standards of right-wing blogger Matt Drudge, even insinuating Hillary Clinton's aide is leaving her husband to shack up with the presidential nominee.

Former New York congressman Anthony Weiner today found himself in the middle of another sexting scandal, even after the first one derailed his political career and embarassed his wife, powerful Clinton aide Huma Abedin. The New York Post released pictures and details on Sunday of Weiner sexting with a female Trump supporter last year. Among them were a photo Weiner took that showed his crotch and was taken while his young son slept nearby. Today, the day after the Post story ran, Abedin announced she's separating from her husband.

Gleeful for another Democratic scandal, the conservative Drudge Report ran the headline, "She's Had Enough Weiner! Huma Chooses Hillary." The headline ran with an image of the two woman together wearing similar outfits. Drudge is a crossroads of right-wing buzz. It helped spread the false Hillary Clinton health scare with a strange theory that Clinton needs to sit with a pillow everywhere she goes.

The thinly-veiled lesbian smear of Clinton has followed her for decades, and many have long lumped Abedin in with their conspiracy theories about Clinton's sexual orientation. Right-winger Glenn Beck, for example, amused himself with the rumor after Clinton came out for marriage equality. Comedian Jenny McCarthy once apologized for using the rumor as fodder for a joke on The View. But no one expects the Drudge Report will apologize, even though the headline has since been changed, dropping the "Huma Chooses Hillary" half.

It's not clear how that rumor of Clinton and Abedin being together would help Trump's chances at the presidency, but Drudge went with it anyway. Some took umbrage with the blogger's latest low blow, while others were amused or used it to further their own untruths.
