I was 18 and had been out for only a couple of years when I met the love of my life online. I was looking for sex and nothing more. He later admitted the same. We talked for a few weeks and then decided to meet, so I invited him to my annual Halloween party. He showed up and was the dorkiest guy I had ever seen, and I fell in love (or at least lust) immediately.
We struck up a conversation and agreed to meet the next week for our first official date. It was a cold November night. He wore his leather jacket and picked me up in his "junker." My parents had to meet him. He was as nervous as a caged lion, but he made it through. Then we went to a movie and made out like crazy.
One date turned into two, one year rolled into two, and as we were celebrating two wonderful years together we made a huge decision that has ultimately saved our relationship. We were going through some rocky times. Lying in bed late at night, Ry rolled over with tears in his eyes and asked me to get him away from Denver, where we were living at the time. I said I would get tickets the next day--we were moving to Hawaii.
We celebrated our three-year anniversary here, and we are going to have our wedding here in November as well. I love my fiance so very much, and I wouldn't have asked for things to turn out any differently. We have had our moments, but I think it is just amazing that two 18-year-olds can find each other, fall in love, stay in love, and get married.
