Schitt's Creek Pop-Up Experience Celebrates Final Season
Schitt's Creek Pop-Up Experience Celebrates Final Season
A few lucky fans will get the chance to explore the iconic sets of Emmy-nominated comedy Schitt's Creek in an interactive pop-up experience kicking off this weekend in Los Angeles and next month in New York City.
Hosted by Pop TV, the pop-up coincides the first teaser trailers for the show's sixth and final season, which premieres on January 7. The response to the event was so enthusiastic that the free tickets sold out in four minutes.
At a VIP press night on Wednesday, guests walked through set replicas like the Rosebud Motel, the Cafe Tropical, Rose Apothecary, the unforgettable "Welcome to Schitt's Creek" sign, and more. The Advocate was there to cover the event and take a closer look at the props on display.
"Visit Schitt's Creek" runs Nov. 22-24 in Los Angeles and Dec. 13-15 in New York. Showrunner and star Dan Levy is offering one final chance to experience the New York event in a giveaway with Omaze, supporting the FSHD Society; the contest closes in three days.
“Hi pals! The Schitt’s Creek pop-up is now sold out so this is your chance to get in! I’ve also got your flights to NYC and hotel covered! AND every donation you make for the chance to win will support the amazing work of the FSHD Society. Head to https://t.co/q8XBWHH8q1! @omaze”— dan levy (@dan levy) 1572995795
Visit Schitt's Creek
Members of the press were invited to the event in Los Angeles and New York with these limited-edition Rosebud Motel snowglobes.
The Final Season
Schitt's Creek Season 6 premieres January 7 on Pop TV in the United States, and on the CBC in Canada. Previous seasons are available on Netflix.
Stevie's Desk
The pop-up experience features a near-exact replica of the front desk at the Rosebud Motel.
Room 7 is Available
Replicas of the Rosebud Motel keyring can be purchased at www.schittscreek.shop.
Notice Board
Emily Hampshire, who attended the Los Angeles press event, said the "Puppies For Sale" sign was exactly like the one from the motel lobby set.
Ray Butani
Schitt's Creek's real estate agent/travel agent/photographer/Christmas tree salesman Ray Butani was well represented, including an appearance from actor Rizwan Manji.
The Full Experience
Exhibits at the "Visit Schitt's Creek" experience at LA's Goya Studios included the Cafe Tropical, the Moira's Rose's Garden, the Holiday Special staircase and more.
Rose Family Portrait
The replica of the painting from the Season 1 premiere is life-sized, and slightly creepy.
Johnny and Moira's Bedroom
A Pop TV representative told The Advocate that the painting above the bed is from the actual Schitt's Creek set, and was claimed as a souvenir by actor Annie Murphy after the show wrapped.
Moira's Wig Wall
While several of these wigs are props, others were actually worn by Catherine O'Hara during episodes like "Grad Night" and "Asbestos Fest," Pop TV told The Advocate.
Herb Ertlinger
In the lee of a picturesque ridge lies a small, unpretentious winery...
Café Tropical
The enormous menus are exact copies of the props used on the Schitt's Creek set, according to Pop TV.
They Do a Lovely Wine Pairing With That
The Advocate can confirm that the Cafe Tropical menus include the deep-fried mozzarella stick platter from David and Patrick's first date at the end of Season 3.
Don't Worry
It's his sister!
The Crows Have Eyes
Moira Rose's costume from her ill-fated B-list thriller, The Crows Have Eyes III: The Crowening.
It Looks Like a Bike
This is soooo special for me.

Rose Apothecary
The replica of David and Patrick's store featured Schitt's Creek shirts, mugs, aprons and other merchandise, available at www.schittscreek.shop.
Locally Sourced
Sad to report that the Rose Apothecary soap, while real and fragrant, is actually a prop and not for sale. Our apologies to the Pop TV employee who kept having to fix the display.
You Just Fold It In
I don't know how to fold broken cheese like that!
