San Diego police are investigating as a hate crime a Monday night paintball attack in which two people were hit outside the city's LGBT center.
NBC San Diego reports that unknown assailants in a dark sedan attacked several locations in the North Park and Hillcrest neighborhoods with a paintball gun, yelling antigay slurs as they fired rounds at the LGBT center.
"The passenger had a gun of some kind in his hand and I heard just one pop after another go off," said a bystander who was hit in the head and leg with paintballs.
